After this weekend, I'll be completely done with the National Guard! No longer will I have to support the WA N.G. Festivities to be determined.... At the Wayward I'm apparently becoming more of a social butterfly than outside of my fellow Steamrats. I just don't want to neglect anyone in my growing circle of friends. I really need to work on a gun-mod. There's nothing quite like being able to hold the artwork that emerges before your very eyes. Of course, the prospect of selling some on eBay, Etsy, or via commission is making little $$-signs appear on my eyes, also. I really want to try one of my new Axis & Allies sets out soon. A tiny pa

Rusty Con

This weekend was my first Rusty Con, and the theme just happened to be steampunk. I spent most of my time there in my 'gunner' outfit, and of course entered a photo into the costume contest. For voting, the photos were all numbered and displayed, and although I did not win a category, I received a greater reward. As I was walking down a hallway, a woman was passing by and just wanted to let me know that in the costume contest, she thought I had one of the sexiest steampunk costumes.

Recently on The Escapist, a website about the video game industry, an off-topic forum post caught my eye. A man by the name of Will Rockwell makes lovely steampunk'd items, most notably a 64GB thumbdrive.  The most newsworthy part of the post seemed to be the price: $1,000. (For reference, the most expensive plain 64GB thumbdrive on Tigerdirect.com is $237.99. www.tigerdirect.com ) The comments varied, but no one appeared interested at that price. Ever being the cad that I am, I chimed in about being able to make, and more importantly -sell-, something comparable at a more reasonable price. Mr. Rockwell created an Escapist account yesterday

Your steampunk stuff is amazing, mate! The costume under your deviantID is awesome!

I love steampunk also and have some works in progress, but the weather hasnt allowed me to work on them : /
I feel your pain; my apartment is so tiny, I do most of my work on a drafting table outside. Until it warms up more, I'm just doing detail-work.

I'd love to see your works whenever they're presentable, also.
I would be doing detail work but I have to get the big stuff done first : / My work area consists of my backyard, heh, and right now we have a bunch of snow... Not the best time to use the powersaw or the dremel, heh.

I hope to put up some photos of my stuff when I get finished.
